This page describes how the IQ Test is administered.  You can also CLICK HERE to read about the background of how this test was constructed.

This is a timed test.  You have exactly 30 minutes from the time you start the test.  After that time no selections will register and there will be no further effect on your score.

There are 60 different questions in the inventory of questions.  The program will select 50 of those randomly and present them in a different sequence every time the page is loaded.

There are usually 5 possible answers to each question and these questions are also shuffled into a different sequence each time that question is loaded.

Some questions are deliberately harder than others. There is a negative score for selecting an incorrect answer.  You may wish to skip over questions you find difficult and come back to them if you have time. There is neither negative nor positive score for a question which you do not answer.  The only way, of course, to get a positive score is to answer a question with the correct answer.

Your score will appear near the top of the page, as a percentage, with 100% as the highest number.  This IQ Test is constructed so that you can multiply each percentage point by ONE to get the actual IQ Score. Thus, a score of 60% is equal to an IQ Score of 120.

There is only one correct answer for each question.

When the test starts there is only one question in view.  You may proceed through the test clicking on "next question" when you are ready; or you can select "Show All Questions" to put them all in view.

If you select a wrong answer you will get an immediate message that you have selected an incorrect answer, that answer will then be marked with "incorrect answer" and you may still select other answers.  Each incorrect answer affects your final score in a negative way.

When you select the correct answer you will get an immediate message that you have selected the correct answer and the button will then be marked with "correct answer."

If you answer all the questions before the time is up, the timer will stop and your score appears.

If you do not answer all the questions within the allowed time, when the timer stops you can no longer change the score and your score will appear.

Here is how the test might appear for you:
